When sunlight falls
Behind the walls
Of moonlit halls
The palest blue
I lie awake
Trying to break
The dreams I make
Of me and you
When darkness owns
With blackened tones
And silent phones
That never ring
I watch the clock
And try to block
Each tick and tock
That silence brings
When colors fade
To thoughts replayed
And wishes made
Upon a star
I sit and fight
The very night
That shows no light
But who we are

This reads so quickly Kevin, the way you put it down on the page pushes the pace like the constant forward movement of time. Well done.

Yesh, I agree that this poem seems to depict the passing of time. The pace is fast. But it seems you're waiting for something, or someone? Shouldn't time be 'crawling' when you're waiting? I don't know about you, but that happens to me...   It feels like ages when I have to wait... Truth be told, i HAVE been waiting for ages.
