What makes a baker so special
That he gets a "dozen" of his own?
Why does a baker's dozen get one more bun?
It's absurd, it's crazy, it's unknown.

And why do we turn down the car radio
When we're trying to find an address?
Are we trying to sneak up on it?
That must be it, I guess.

If nothing sticks to Teflon,
What makes it stick to the pan?
This is just beyond me,
It must have been invented by a man.

Some things defy explanation,
These are only three.
There are just so many, many more
HELP, before I go CRAZY!!!

ROTFL, this is funny and cute. In fairness to the weaker sex, I don't know if all those goofy things were designed by men.

The bakers dozen was probably Mother Hubbard's idea, to keep her cupboards well stocked.

But what does hold the teflon on???????
Silly putty? Crazy glue?

Balladeer and Midnitesun...
Thank you for your encouraging responses. This is actually the first time I've posted a poem, so I'm glad you both enjoyed my first attempt.

I know men aren't that bad, but I sure had fun writing about them!

Enjoyed this.Speaking as a baker myself we are a privileged worker to be able to put forth one extra delight, that's what makes us special.

Bec,
this was thought provoking and funny.
I always wondered why you pay on  freeways.
I know why a baker's dozen had thirteen...I'll tell you if you email me.
BTW I always thought the stupidist saying is..."Can I ask  a question?" when in saying that you already did.

peaches73533... Well, thank you to you and bakers everywhere! I love getting an extra bun... Some of them are just so yummy, getting one more is like a treat!

Kethry... It's absurd, isn't it? I'll certainly send you an email to find out about the baker's dozen!

Andrea... I'm glad you got a giggle out of my poem.

Marge... I had a ball writing this! I'm going to have to write some more now that I have some spare time...

Kethry... Thanks for the email. It's amazing the trivia some people know!
