The ... Woe in Me
~~~
Hearts overcome
by sorrow's throw
to fleeting hopes adhere
Aligning thoughts against the flow
will not
console a tear
Through change
embrace
the strongest taste
erase the palette's
grieve
A pining thought
forgotten not
is grief's one last reprieve
~
Linger not
or ponder thought
on moments past repair
As beauty grasped
from distant past
brings little
but despair
Instead
perceive
in darkness shot
with hope
you this conceive
A pining thought
forgotten not
is grief's one last reprieve
~~~

  Well done poet Rex.

"Linger not
or ponder thought
on moments past repair"
Exactly. But easier said than done for some.

An ancient sound
'tis sorrow heard
black it flies
along with word

a cry of dark
as pain is borne
thoug night be long,
come soon, sweet Morn...

Now, this is utterly sad!
