Visions Of

I shall put away my present,
as I, have tried my past.
I shall keep the future tucked away
as if it were my last.
The "nevermores"  have reached the final,
nailed the coffin tight.
The dreams are gone, the dark resides
beside me, come each night.

I shall leave behind emotions,
become somber-like and grim.
I shall keep the lips from parting,
lose the smile, 'twas once for him.
There will never be another,
this I promise and will keep.
Maybe now, becoming empty,
find I, finally some sleep.

I shall seek the path of knowledge
holding truth above the rest.
Adding honesty towards all I meet,
anonymous, the test.
I shall hold onto that part of me,
inside that weakens most.
If by chance you see me, visions of,
once was, is now a ghost.

Maureen, sweet Maureen, no preaching in this reply about how dreams go on...only respect for the beautiful...message and poem that I just read.  This is ______no word for the feeling of how deep this went. Not only from you but to me and I'm sure to anyone who reads it.  Yes, the part that weakens most.
If everyone admitted it we all have it.
This really touched me. Here, you deserve these, I wish I could give them to you in person. Well, never know!!!

Kay, I appreciate the thought..it would be nice to receive roses even if only once in a lifetine. Thank you.

Sy, it's a privilege to me that you take the time to even respond to my words. Thank you for your kindness, always.Hugssss

Mon Cherie..happy to have you reading here *s

wornways ...you  sense the truth, the future no longer exists to me

Sven..I have no path unless it is forked and even then I would not take either one....thank you Sven..there is a leaving but there is no finding...only a falsity searching my heart

Mistletoe Angel ...I am a sad person, Noah, no doubt about it..and I prefer to not hope anymore. Some say G*d  would never give you more than you can handle... someone lied...thank you for your kindness and warmth always.

*sigh* dear one, I share your feelings and understand them. I weave my fantasy poems only because it is a way to express what I know I will never have. My heart goes out to you in that hope has left your heart. How I wish I knew the answers but I don't. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Lady, I don't think its possible for a poet to abandon their emotions is it?   I do love the way this is written though.

Your storm of assumption feeds anger I am calm enough to hold inside. Don't pretend to know me if you've never put stretched out your heart with since

This is wonderfully written Maureen. Ah, were it that easy to put away emotions and feelings....

Sometimes we have to let go in order to find what we've been seeking.  Wonderful write, Maureen.  This one reaches deep within.

vandana thank you for reading.

Startime ...I am not so sure anyone can share my feelings and/or understand them, not even those closest to me. There are no answers...my future was set for me about 2 years ago, I just didn't realize it then. Thank  you for your time in reading and responding.

Temptress..I think one can be emotionless, I see it often in a person or two...poet or not. It's nice that you enjoyed this weak work of mine. Poetry has become a time filler for me now.

Tracey...thank you for the kind words. It's not easy to put them away, but sometimes it's the better of two negatives.

Lone Wolf ..oh I have let go in more ways than one. But I am not seeking anything, but maybe some peaceful thoughts for a change. Thank you.
