The rain for you
I'd give
Sprinkle roses
In soft white
Among your bed
Watch the whispers
Fall across your lips
As you say my name

Your voice in the
Night, I feel you
Near, I feel you
In my heart
I have walked
This road before
Somewhere
Down a distant highway
Where we danced
In moonlit strands
Can I have one
Last memory
With you
One last walk in the rain,
That which is the fire
In the sky
I am she who will sing the storm

*****

I keep my ideals,
because in spite of everything,
I still believe that
people are really good at heart.

my oh my...this is a sigh on high...
Lauren this is stunning in its delicately expressed longing and devotion..
whispered softly... yet speaking volumes.
How well I know these feelings...
the fire that burns always...
the storm in constant stirring beneath the skin...
the ache that never leaves...and I pray it never will...
for all the right reasons

he said ... "dont cry" ...
said "it only hurts forever ... and all we have is time."

I wonder ...
have you ever actually danced in the rain?
It sounds like you have ...
and captured the moment well.

Let it rain

Your words are like rain AND roses.  I tell you they soothe....love it when you write like this!

I like the image this puts in my mind. I think of watery trails on the cool window glass. A bed with soft satin sheets, and white rose petals all over the covers. Oooooohhhh...

Your words whisper so softly Lauren, they speak in volumes.  Lovely as always.
