She looked at him, with face upturned,
through eyes that could not see
Her smile reflected all the joys
of what pure love should be
Her fingers reached to touch his face,
then from his lips, he asked:
“How can it be that you love me,
and how long will it last?”

She thought for but a moment,
then she touched him with a kiss
A tear escaped her sightless eyes,
she answered him like this:
“I’ve loved you from the very start,
and that can’t be denied...
I felt the goodness in your soul,
you touched me deep inside...”

“You opened up my lifelong cage,
to set my spirit free
You gave me wings, and taught me that to fly,
I need not see...
You showed me that I only have to try,
and nothing more
And that I’ll find a brand new chance,
behind each waiting door...”

“But there are things that I do see,
from eyes within my mind
And never in my life,
could I have dreamed that I would find
A man with feelings, pure and true,
a love to call my own
You wrapped your life around me
Now, at last, I have a home...”

“I will ever stand by you,
throughout our mortal days
And I will always love you,
for your gentle, tender ways
It doesn’t matter what time does,
of me you’ll have no doubt
Though love is blind, I see you clearly,
from the inside out...”

...you are me, I am you, we are one...

Seems awhile since I've read one of your Sunnyone and glad am I to see one here - still just as wonderful as I remember them to be, if not even more so.

Thank you!

Yes, I seem to have taken a bit of time off to get my new life in order, but one can never stop writing for long, if it is such a part of your soul......thank you, jw!

Oh, my frozen friend, yes......I am very happy here without the snow and shovels, and with my English Prince! It is for him that this is written, as are all of my latest love stories!  Thank you!

...you are me, I am you, we are one...

Hi Sunny

Love is truly blind - and you were nervous about going to England.  You are doing just fine and your beautiful words prove it.

Yes, I suffered from the same human quality that keeps most of us from experiencing new and wonderful things: fear of the unknown! But sometimes we must close our eyes and be blind to our fears, and reach for the 'happily ever after' ending!!  Yes, it did turn out so very beautifully!! Thank you, big sis!!!

And love is the favorite topic of most poets, as we draw from our inner selves, and our hearts!  I am glad to meet you, and thank you much for reading and commenting on this piece!!

hmmmmmm. you are in England now?..WOW twice, once for the move and the second for the most moving, lovely poem I have read in a very long while. If you have a secret, could you send it my way? *s It's nice to see you smiling.
