If you would like to see the page I have made for this poem just go to my site and click on the LOVE button...it will take you to the right page. **hugs** I know it is long but I hope you enjoy the fantasy of it.

Wild Pink Rose

His eyes blink open as his senses tell him
there is a sound which doesn't belong
in this place of wild beauty.
The pool is calm and glass clear
with wisps of early morning fog
all but hiding if from view.

He can hear bur not see the cascading falls
just around the bend slightly hidden
from his view as it flows gently into the pool.
The trees stand tall and serene filling
all space to the very waters edge
except upon this small section where he camps.

He hears the voices of a few birds as they
begin their early search to feed the young, thriving in their nests.
He has come to this place to rest his heart
and soul, far away from the stress of a world
gone mad with no thought to human kind
and the misery many endure.

His heart is soft and gentle with a deep
desire to share his life with someone
who can give themselves with a pure
and honest completeness.
This man has seen and experienced the pain
of love betrayed by one he thought
shared the dreams of his heart.

His senses now have found the source
of the sound yet no sound comes from
the vision he sees but can't believe.
She is tall, straight of limb and stately
as the trees from where she advances
with slow sure steps as if she flows
at one with nature around her.

Her hair is spun silver and flows
down her back reflecting rainbows
as the sun peeks through fog to cast
light on this vision of womanhood.
Eyes of a brilliant green, deep like
the forest, sparkle with a gaiety of life
yet softened at the same time gazing
at him with gentle compassion.

A gown of silver that simmers with each move
she takes drapes a body that is perfect
in every detail.
Her feet are bare needing no adornment
as she walks with the beauty and grace
of a deer at one with the forest around her.

A smile of promise and acceptance
lights her face making it impossible
not to return the smile of this fair lady.
He has not spoken for the shock of waking
to such a magical sight has robbed him
of his tongue.

With delicate hands that show gentleness
and strength she hands him a gift
he knows she was sent to give
this man of wounded heart.
A perfect dark maple leaf is placed
in his receiving hands and as he tears
his eyes away from her he sees that placed
in the center of the leaf is a brilliant
Wild Pink Rose.

His eyes snap back to her as his ears receive
the sound of her voice that flows over him
like a gently flowing brook, very soothing
to the soul.

"This perfect rose is given you from
untouched reaches of the forest with a promise
that though now you feel the pain of love lost,
still there is another prepared for you
who will fill your heart with desire."

"Lose not your faith in this world where love
is rare, but seek the one to who your heart,
body, mind and soul you share."

"Accept not the games played for fun and gain
but stay to the path of eternal love most true."

With a smile to melt the heart of the most
hardened man she turns from him and walks
quietly away.

With a start he opens his eyes and smiles...
"t'was just a dream", than glancing down he sees
a perfect Wild Pink Rose upon a Maple Leaf.
