I watched the moonlight kiss your lips

Bestowed on you an angel's kiss
your face moved as you dreamed of this.

I heard your quiet sounds of sleep
tiny rumbles low and deep.
Knew not the secrets that you keep
in corners where your soul does creep.

I prayed you'd open up your eyes
the place I know your sweet soul lies.
The source of every tear it cries
and every humor that it spies.

In dreams I thought you would not hear
my quiet plea, my words of fear.
In sleep you simply wiped my tear
and turned and pulled my body near.

Remember me with a smile on your face, or please don't remember me at all.
