Nothing Ordinary

I used to think that when I viewed the world and life
And, found powerful in their being
That, along with my mind, I received more than a view
I knew there was nothing ordinary in what I was seeing...

My eyes, through a child, was able to capture a sense of awe in it all
And, being six years old my mind looked at things through an older soul
Sitting there upon that metal tower along the old railroad tracks
Never once found myself playing a six year olds role...

I knew then, in spite of my reality at home
I had a vision that very few would ever see
So, when the dirt and the hatred through each day was done
I went back to the older, more insightful, side of me...

I know now that years have aged this heart
My six year old mind still remains just through older eyes
Just now I can actually touch what I viewed so long ago
Still no one can convince me there isn't something special about that sky...

For you can look at a tree and simply see a tree
But, you could never change that there's more to it than that to me
You see the leaves and it's holder and how it stands all year through
But, there's nothing ordinary about it and what God intended it to do...

For there are reasons, a way of breathing, in a simple rainbow
Each color has a message if you'll just stop turning away
I can promise you if you'd seriously look at it's ageless display
You'd, also, never go back to an ordinary day...

Through my miles, I've met many, and each has touched me in ways
And, all of you have you're own unique set of wings
But, the those of you who have the concept of appreciation to God's great gifts
Are the ones, to me, that I hear your souls rise and ring...

Luckily, I found an extra amazing person that sees beyond my face
And, knows there's a greater side to me then just a girl in pain
He believes in me and what my mind has to offer myself
And, he knows no matter the storms I could never change...

I have come to love this man for so many reasons
And, I'm not sure if he really understands why
He has the eyes to see beyond the ordinary things in life
And, he finds some magical way to help me fly...

I love him for seeing past the physical part of myself
For knowing someday my mind is going to be my freedom for good
And, if there's an ounce of goodness he claims he can see
Then I've accomplished everything I had hoped I would...

There's so nothing ordinary about his beautiful face
And, sometimes I find myself so lost in the way he holds his eyes
It's like I can find all wonderful that was replaced with terrible my whole life
Just being there in the delicate form by his side...

There's nothing ordinary in my thoughts of what wish I so clearly view
I just know no matter what I am I still can't ever be enough
Because my so not ordinary thoughts I have of this man I hold
Has limits to the day, to the night, and even to us...

I just hope that my heart speaks out louder than the words I can't sometimes say
And, I hope my nothing ordinary thoughts are OK
I could never explain how I've gotten to this point all the way through
I just don't wanna be that ordinary girl that he once knew...

Have you ever felt a hand that lacked any hurtful ideas behind it?
I did just a few weeks ago
God, in that moment I found that there really are angels as well
There just aren't words on how hard his hand was to let go...

Forgive me if I cling to the only sunshine I've ever got to feel
But, I'm not sorry I got to experience what was so awesomely real
Understand I would never ask nor expect from him what in his life is so dear
Just gotta know, that in me, in my new beginning, there's nothing ordinary here...

(big hugggssssssss) The beauty of that sweet six-year old will always rest in your loving compassionate world, just as the love you share with us all will always shine! (smiles) You are a very loving friend and there is nothing ever ordinary about you, for you have a priceless gift of love that is rare that your heart sings with! (smiles) I'm so happy that you've found true happiness! (kiss on cheek) Soooooo beautiful, sweet Saunni! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

Saunni, I want you to know I read every words of this...slowly and I love the feeling.  Nothing ordinary about you, dear, nothing at all.

Time to go back and be a young six year old for a while, if only in a mind's visit? I never climbed any towers, but climbed my share of trees.  You can get a very different perspective of life from a higher vantage point. That's why I used to hike up to the tops of mountains, to get away from my own low lying thoughts.

it's good to have people that believe in you. . . they help you to believe in yourself. . .

keep looking through those six-year old eyes. . . you never know what they'll see. . .

wonderful my friend. . .

saunni, this is an excellent piece of writing....truly a love poem. Congrats on finding someone you can feel that way about...and don't worry about his seeing your love inside...that will be easy, I'm sure
