White Thumbprint

The leaves were a twitter,
twirl, jive with partner wind,
and the trees all had their own
sway, wave, ripple.

The hills opened behind the valley
like a three dimensional card,
all lines etched clean
and the color true.

But it wasn’t until I saw
the moon against the eastern sky,
as I drove home,
a daylight moon,
like a white thumbprint
on the blue paper of autumn,
that I thought of you,
the gentle impression
on my heart.

That wasn't just a thumbprint I think but instead a window to the embrace of many many peaceful and warming times to come.  Excellent vision my dear friend but then again, you knew that anyway didn't you?  I do so enjoy wrapping up my night with the thoughts and words of you ( my dream-maker of inspiring thoughts).

Lovely write Martie....

very nice imagery and flow, to end in a way that relates it all to the human heart..and the impressions some people make on our lives...

I can honestly say I don't think I'll ever look at the moon again quite the same way.

Martie, the topics you come up with to turn into verse continue to amaze. Some see a daytime moon...you see a poem. You are a true poetess

The aura of love surrounds you Martie - a lot of it put there by your buds at passions so you'll always know what we think - lovely my friend.
