Blind Spot

Mirrors help assess the risk,
especially when they suggest
the brief, cautionary advice
that what seems far
is really close.
Distraction works up to a point.
For example, as the business associate
with whom you share corporate secrets
leans forward to check her lips,
then, easing back, adjusts her skirt
that slipped up in response
to your comment that she cinch down
her seat belt; throughout all this
there are some things that you can do.
Observe the mileage. Release the brake,
and while you are at it, think
to make certain you did not forget
the all important proposal.
And yet, I should confess,
none of this really helps
prepare you for the acceleration of intimacy
synonymous with automobile travel.
The mesh of traffic. The freeway rhythm.
The breath exchange that accompanies
conversation about the repression of commerce
in third world nations, not to mention
the slight separation
between the second and third button.

Your observation remains intact, as does your penchant for penning what is not always obvious...

Well done!

always wondered what the guy was thinking when he was trying not to...hehehehehe

Well done! A different one from you, and yet, not so very. Ah, I know, it has a 'Papa' flavor.

Bob, you have told all our secrets.  We have to maintain SOME semblance of inscrutability in certain areas

You forgot about adjusting the field scarf

Adjusting the field scarf. I love that. Like Snoopy says, every soldier should, at least once in his life, kiss a nurse. Bob

I love driving, such exhileration on the open road, such freedom, such speed. I've never had a passenger like yours....though...maybe I've been that passenger!!!!

I like driving but I rather be the passenger....here in florida EVERYONE has a cell phone, and they gab on it as they drive and cause accidents! Interesting Write you've penned here.

Wonderfully done...I especially enjoy the reality of the flip between topic and true thought. I love it when males open their thoughts to us.
