Sitting upon my throne of heartache
A crown of regret upon my brow
I have become the lonely king of sorrow
For my touch can kill a heart
Remnents of love once felt
Friendships, family alike
Their hearts lay before me
Scattered by the winter wind

arms raised to the heavens, I cry out
"Why have I been forsaken?!"
with every life I touch, Every smile I bring
brings about their destruction
I helplessly watch as their hearts crumble
Their lives meeting utter ruin
Much like my own

Wiping the tears from my eyes,
I pray that my awful power disappear,
but not before gracing my horrid soul
to avenge all the people I love
yet I have destroyed
then a grim realization comes to pass
filling my heart with fear

this pestilent Midas touch
brought my worst fear to life
that all whom I love and cherish
disappear from my life
wishing not to have me near
that my wounds would cut them deeper
than any other ever could

I cry out to all whom I love in this world
Screaming, begging for forgiveness
But receiving only silence
If only I could be rid of this curse
That loneliness would not be my companion
That I could know happiness once again

Fear destroys the mind, depression destroys the soul... only love and compassion may save you from death.

I think we have all felt like this at one time or another, and I've a saying about it, but I fear it's a bit risque' for forum decorum. Although this is dark, I enjoyed the honesty of the angst, I am only confused by line five of the first stanza...

Were you intending remnants? Or perhaps reminisce (I have trouble spelling that one too--   )

But all in all, I enjoyed very much. I tend to write very dark at times too, so I do understand.

raw and sad...I think you expressed yourself effectively here. enjoyed.

Your storm of assumption feeds anger I am calm enough to hold inside. Don't pretend to know me if you've never put stretched out your heart with since

Nope, you did mean remnants didn’t you? That’s how I read it and it made perfect sense that way.

Quite the outpouring of the soul here. Much emotion and dark feeling. May tomorrow bring a brighter day.

Ah, much truth here.  But, remember this, the right one will withstand and weather all.  Even the most impossible situations.  You'll find her.  Hang in there.

Still full of angst, Lonely Shadow? I've been to your homepage (last month?), and felt the darkness pour from within your heart.  I will continue to hope that things take a brighter turn for you. There is much darkness out there, and sometimes even more within. Sometimes you really have to close your eyes to everything around you, and quietly search for your own source of bright light, then bring it up from the deepest corners of your mind and heart.
