Near golden sunsets

0 posted 2001-11-27 03:59 AM

Frozen wind plays off my panes
In compulsive beats and blows;
Darkened clouds stir incensed
Disrupting this silent repose.

In fickle spurts and quiet flashes
Dry lightning strikes my eyes;
The thunder rolls thickly behind these ears,
Enlightening my blackened skies.

A calm is broken, my memory stained
With the flavor of tasteless events;
Fate unrolled in illtimed revulsion
Embroiled by horrific pretense.

~~~
These feelings abate with languorous breaths
As I sink into Avalon's mist.
Heartbeats come steady in slowed volutions
As I sleep with dreamland's tryst.
You can't wake a person who is pretending to be asleep. -- Navajo Proverb
Well I loved every line, especially the dry lightning striking  the eyes.
Alas, it cannot thunder anymore.  Now it can just snow and be cloudy.  Oh the hard life.  Nice poem too.
Rearrange the letters in poem and replace the m with an n and you get peon.  Hehe, interesting.
Hi lovie, a day late and a dollar short, but it's okay, I'm with the band! I love this, as I love your style, but am contemplating your fascination with looking OUT---there's doors yanno? go out there and mingle with the dark....and if you're not back in five days? we'll send a search party...(I'll be the one with the flask tied about my neck!)
*hic* oh. empty. sorry.
Great imagery here.
"In fickle spurts and quiet flashes
Dry lightning strikes my eyes;
The thunder rolls thickly behind these ears,
Enlightening my blackened skies."
Amazing how nature can slap you around a bit and make you think of all that goes on in this world, the good, the bad, and the ugly (OK so I stole that line)
An interesting write. Thanks.
