A real man is what I mistook you for
You have a small heart
In which I don't want anymore
A real man wouldn't raise his tone
He would respect my opinions
For they are my own
A real man wouldn't have such insecurities
He wouldn't harrass my male friends
With child-like immaturity
He would treat me like a human being
And understand that I cannot see
the same way he's seeing
He wouldn't try to modify me into something else
He'd be more appreciative
As I can only be myself
A real man would engage in conversation
He wouldn't fall asleep as I speak
Showing no interest in communication
A real man would comfort me
When I break down crying hystericaly
He would give me my personal space
And never keep pent up in the house barbarously
To a real man, it wouldn't matter who's wrong/right
He wouldn't begin, only try to end the fight
He wouldnt direct toward me negative energy
I want to throw at you all the rotten memories
A real man you are not
Your place in my heart has now hardened
Now longer a softspot
I won't dwell on the memories that are rotten
I found someone far more my type
So you will soon be forgotten

And that is how it should be. If a man cannot act like a real man he can just go his way while you find someone who is a real man. BRAVO!!!Emotionally powerful. Absolutely wonderful.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Best to let rotten apples fall by the wayside, and not have anything more to do with them. Make sweet pie with a real apple.
You Noah what I mean? LOL

Where does Balladeer get those pics?
A real man is a real person...first.  No gender involved.  Only then can he be a man to your woman.  Hope you have indeed, found yours.
Though dawgs can be fun, as long as you're just keeping them around to fetch the paper.

Loved this (tho I found 'deer's graphic a bit startling in its accuracy  )
and with that? may I add? sleeping dogs LIE.

Understood all too well, rose.

oh, dear, yes a real man is hard to find, but let me tell you when you do, he never lets go!  No matter what you put him through.. It's called puppy love, I believe...yes I like that...thank you for this.

RosePetal,
It's odd how hard it is to find a real man. Why is that? Good write!

Teach the men who don't know!
I think this poem was very truthful, and far too many women go this type of neglect. I'm truly feeling you on this one!

Poetry is spiritual ventilation!

sad but beautifully written.
i think, though, that a lot of the "a good man is hard to find" syndrome comes from looking in the wrong places. just ask tara what happens when you look in the right place
seriously, it's good to see you getting past this. best of luck to you both.
