It follows me everywhere
I've nowhere to hide
I don't know why it happens
But it kills me inside.
No matter what I do
No matter what I say
It's there to get me
With each passing day.
I can't make up my mind
I don't know who I want to be.
Should I be what they want
Or me, only me?
It will catch up to me
But I never know when.
I only know I'll feel
Unwanted
Again.

This is a repost from Open 1. I've been feeling kind of weird lately, so I thought I'd post this.

God bless America, my home sweet home.

Always be yourself and then you never have to remember who you are being for who. Find yourself and set yourself free. **hugs** You are so very loved, dear one.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

What's that saying - "be true to oneself..."
I believe that above all. If to self you can't be true, then to others,  no-no.

Don't know you except through here and what others say to/about you but I know in my heart if you be you (even as far back as open 1 - all else will fall into place = and as far as feeling unwanted - hell, I've felt that way most of my life, but we deal with it because for all we know, the "others" feel unwanted too.  Have to overide our "feeling" and make the others feel wanted (having a tough time doing that with my daughters husband tho...hee, hee).

Neat write, Liz.

Oh Elizabeth ... I've known this feeling myself ... and you've captured it well. Wonderful pondering in this contemplative piece!

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

Aren't you glad that you have a way to express this very feeling...can you imagine those who don't know how?

I agree with Sunshine, it is good to write it out, and also to get the feedback that you are not alone in this.  I think we have all felt this at times, and the hard part is to dismiss the actions of others and realize that our self-worth comes from internal sources not external.  Great food for thought here Elizabeth.

I think we've all felt this way at one time or another.  Nice write, and I also have to agree with Sunshine.

You are wonderful, so be yourself and the heck with the others

If they can't be ok with you being you, then perhaps it is they who are not ok. Growth and change can be a good thing, but changing yourself can only lead to unhappiness. *SMILE* Excellent write.
