I'm flickering like a ghost in sleepy eyes
tending to things more touchable and real.
I'm going out to mingle with the faces
scrambling for Christmas cheer lost long
before childhood released its grip on them all.
I'm leaving tonight to wander and to smile at strangers
watching them trail their shopped weary children
while towing gifts they aren't supposed to see yet.
I'm shutting this off and visiting the night for a while.
Perhaps some pins and beads and ornaments from my imagination.
If I can write a beautiful poem
just imagine what I could do with
ribbons, beads, pins, and lace.
If I can write such lovely words
then I can surely spread some lovely smiles.
If I can speak to one person a night
whose frown has taken over their day
then perhaps people will remember the spirit
of the nearing season with a warmth
and hope for human consideration.
I'm shutting down
going to find some country roads in what seems to be this small town city.
They're around her somewhere I know
I've been told.
I've had my fill of beachline and casino lights.
Now I'm going to find a treeline
and some Christmas twinkles.
Found the perfect tree
the perfect angel to gaurd it
and it sparkles.
Perhaps I'll go now
and feed my Christmas spirit.
Yes...
Spread some smiles and laughter around
and be infectuous with my warmth.
Goodnight to all!
:waving:

Cute Temptress! You know, I'm really tempted to shop online, I hate being in crowded stores as people frantically grab at the same item you are trying to grab, hehe.
I won't shop online though, they get u good with shipping and handling charges!

I'm leaving tonight to wander and to smile at strangers...

I do this all the time...it's amazing how easy it is to please a stranger

at least I can share a smile with someone who may need it..talk to a more elderly  person than I on a mall bench or comment on a younger person's style...I am inspired to  bring forth some Xmas spirit from your words...thank you Jenn

Oh Jenn ... there's no question that you fed "my" Christmas spirit with this wonderful piece! You've captured so many wonderful aspects of this season ... I just loved this wonderfully flowing write!

Best wishes,
