Snowflakes

The first snowflakes fall
indiscriminately in ditches,
backyards and under Aquatreads
mulched into a brownish mass
sacrificed to the greater beauty
drifted along fences
covering the death of Winter
as a caul on the face
of an innocent slain
from a drive-by
wishing for Spring.

What a unique perspective on snowflakes. This poem has a most chilling effect.
Very nicely done, Contabo!

I love the magic of the world after a good fall of snow. So clean and beautiful. *sigh* of course that doesn't last for long. Great poem.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

What a wonderful treat to feast on when one finds the words of vision beyond what most of us see.  This piece is brings a new perspective to the way we can look at whats around us and still makes sense.  Excellent write and the images were very plain to see.  Loved it.

Thank you very much Mark.

Isn't that what poetry is all about?

Glad you "got" it and loved it.
