Selflessness of Tender Touch

by Michael

He strokes his beard while deep in thought
His reading glasses resting near
Then rubs his forehead as he thinks
Of how to fill his days each year

He wants to offer others hope
And to his friends a blessing, be
To look for dreams that he might chase
And build sand castles at the sea

He'll draw and paint such lovely scenes
And to this world more beauty bring
In some way brighten someone's life
For it is such a wondrous thing

In wee of morn, near sigh of dawn
He'll set an candlestick in place
Another poem will he create
To bring a smile to someone's face

And hurting souls will he caress
Give of his strength that they may heal
Lay bare his heart, that it be seen
It is alright for us to feel

He'll be fresh air that children breathe
And laughter to their lives, he'll give
A father to the little ones
We all have but one life to live

So he will give the best there is
He'll probe the depths until he finds
The selflessness of tender touch
To fill so many of these minds

Such a warm and tender portrait, and so true about you, sweet friend. I can always sense when you are out there lighting another  candle.

Micheal,

Your candle is always burning, you incredable mind always working.  And how lucky for us to be able to read your thoughts. *hugs* to you.

Mayhap it is the time of year,
but for some reason I envision
Santa sitting quietly in June,
writing this very poem...

Thank you!
