she says, with the shyness of nudity's newness
turn out the lights and I will love you
like no woman before
but he left them on
and loved her like there would be no other

cheek resting on car door frame
eyes closed to take advantage of down time
too soon the bank teller sends the carriage
shooting back down the line

rolling the pie dough takes all her
concentration, so he easily slips up behind
and sensuously unzips her dress
pies forgotten
they heat up much more

I miss you mama my grandma
the little voice quivers into the receiver,
you'll come home from working and
play with me
soon?

before his approving gaze, she felt so beautiful
that she picked up her skirts and twirled,
pirouettes, for his eyes only,
one piece at a time, she unclothed her world

slurping the second oversized ice cream cone
she hopes to hide behind her size
everyone knows fat people can't be hurt
they don't really cry

when the alternative is
not being alone,
desserts sans solo are
bittersweet

after so many years of a perfectly clean
but unhappy house, too late she found
that it wasn't all that bad
to go to bed
with dishes in the sink

wow, this is really good...zings at the heart, and touches on many levels. I'm sure this will hit home with many.
