Touching

There’s a place where I bathe in the stars of the night
Where a million white glitters cast glorious light
Where nothing can hide from the light of the moon
That makes icy white snowdrift of tropical dune

The night sky descends upon water and beach
A heavenly  blanket within fingers reach
I extend out my arms to a twinkling star
That has beckoned my eye and my hand from afar

There are places like this where a man touches moon
In the wild of the earth, in the hidden lagoon
In the vast desert plain and the isle of dreams
On the crest of a mountain and  mid oceans streams

There are places of wonder where sky meets the earth
Where the faith of a man was at night given birth
For he saw earth and heaven embraced as a whole
And his tears wet the dessert with rain from his soul

It is there that a spring bubbled up from the ground
And red poppies bloomed freely within its surround
They grew in the day, but were born of the night
When a soul touched the heaven’s most glorious Light

You took me on a trip to every place I have been that is hidden from the lights of man and only the light of the heavens is there to calm the soul.  Such beautiful words, superb imagery, and even better cadence and flow you gave us today.  I truely enjoyed this piece and will over and over I am sure.

When I read this, I felt as if I had just been freshly bathed in a beautiful bright white light, and then sat down in a field of brilliant poppies and sage.
