Fade

I'm afraid
So afraid
That one day your love for me will fade away
As the Fall fades into Winter
Growing oh so lonesome cold
I cannot help my fear your love may fade

I'm so scared
Just so scared
That the day will pass your kisses come no more
My heart would shrivel up and die
In the absence of your kiss
And all my life would be so bleak and bare

I feel fear
In me fear
That your fondness for my heart will one day leave
As when the sun parts from the sky
Leaving all the land in night
So would my heart be lost in just such dark

My heart dreads
Darkly dreads
That I will one day lose your respect for me
For if you turned your trust from me
I would agonize within
Until I lost the hope and will to live

I'm afraid
Just afraid
That the day will come your love for me would fade
For if it faded so would I
And my heart grow dark and numb...
I pray your love will never fade from me

I ditto Dor's comment, the fade to a lighter write in black is really good, perfect for this poem.  Interesting poem.
