Love's Assure
November 25th, 2001

I'm not sure exactly how this is supposed to go
because all my love before has been
neither well experienced nor well communicated
But when I see her, I just can't hope to stop
the rush of fever as it travels up my body
finally being trapped in my reddened face
I feel the heat in my ears as they ring
and my entire body tingles strangely
When I look into her eyes
I can't seem to hear anything
nor see anything outside of them
So lost I become that I fear I might fall
fall deep into the darkness
that fills the pitch black night
I see in them
Just as the moment approaches where I feel
I must look away for the fear is grasping my throat
I see the reassurance
in those endless pools of blue and green
At that instant I know that you see me
and, I am ... unafraid

Doug, this is very good and although it was a long long time ago, I remember those feelings.  You have penned them well my friend.
Enjoyed!  ~hugs, Nancy~

Many of us can remember feelings like this. Doug, you have expressed these emotions well, right down to the reddened face.

Oh wow, do I ever like this one. Speaks so truly of those first feelings when we want someone, but don't know if they feel the same. The uncertainty, the fumbling.

At that instant I know that you see me
and, I am ... unafraid

And that...is the best part of it all.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Nancy, Midnitesun, Tracey and Peaches. Thank you so much for your quick replies. I'm glad two of your quoted the end because that was the most powerful part to me!

With a little luck, we shall all yet again feel those feelings and share that look.

Doug
