As seasons change so passions rearrange
from slim and supple Spring it's scanty dress,
with Autumn's harvest grows a wider range
at eyesight's dimming comes the rubenesque,
the heated coils of immortal youth
doth thin when drawing nigh the Winter eve,
we seek the warmer blanket's cozy truth
and yearn of yarn less scrawny in it's weave,
for life long lived's the turning of a page
whose thickened book we're eager not to end,
we slow the pleasure in our middle age
and more to quiet comfort we depend,
the young are more a valued moving art
roll swiftly from my reach sweet pastry cart.

There is an excellent message here, and you tell it with both power and wisdom, Sir. I enjoyed reading this.

This....is a poem I would imagine in a leather bound book and you know, I would curl up with a quilt, window half open, hot tea and ....just let the words seep in.
That's how comforting I felt this is!

Oh, Richard, come on now. Be another George Burns. He was still chasing that pastry cart at age 70+
