"Changes" The leaves are falling quietly, As the wind blows them to the ground. The trees are swaying back and forth, As they stand there nude, They're ready for a new wardrobe, For winters coming soon...... The squirrels are running frantically, Working on their winter stash, Picking up all they can gather, Hoping it will be enough to last...... The birds have flown south for the winter, You see a few stragglers, here and there, Trying to prepare their young for the flight, Treating them with tender loving care...... Like animals and natures beauty, We too prepare for change, Putting on our winter tires, Stocking our cupboards with extra food, Getting out our winter garb, And the changing of our mood...... The Lord above has prepared us all, Weather it be nature, man or beast, This we cannot have doupt, He gave us changes of the seasons to cleanse us all, Just in case he left something out.... ©Sharon E; Lewis Nov.25,2000 [This message has been edited by ~lewisone~ (edited 11-25-2001).] |

This is a very beautiful piece of poetry. I agree with you when you say the Lord gave us the changes in the seasons to cleanse us all.. frankly i think it would be boring without a little change here and there... and it demonstrates death and rebirth in life on earth.. just how christ himself died, and will come again.. as all things do |
