We stood back and watched as you built your career,
You knew we were there, you heard us cheer.
Now we are dealt a terrible blow, but in our hearts
We all really know, You've gone to be with your buddies, where all good Nascar guys go....

You were determined to win, to be #1, you intimidated the spot, many hearts you have won.
Many hard hours of work, providing your fans with so much fun, you may have left us, but we know your works not done.

Though we'll all miss you and grieve for you so, we'll be just fine,
For in our hearts we all know, you've left us to be where all good Nascar guys go....

You hailed your son on, we all watched as he grew,
We all knew he was an Earnhardt, determined just like you.
Don't you worry, we will be here for him, just as we
were for you,
Our sincere respect and loyalty we will show....

He'll be just fine as all of us will be, for in our hearts we all know,
You had to leave us to get where you've gone, where all good Nascar guys go....

Although devastated by our loss, we'll move on, in our heads your memory we'll toss,
Fond memories that will make our hearts glow, as we think of the "Intimidator" in a place where all good Nascar guys go....

So may you rest in peace, and know you are loved,be proud of yourself, be proud of that son,
This is the beginning of a new race for you, so get in line and take your place,
For you know Allen,Davey,Adam, and Kenny, just to mention a few, will all start to shake when they look over and realize the new driver is you....

But there will be no losers at the end of this race,
It's judged by God's eyes and blessed by his grace, For you see you're still in the front, and it's still an exciting race,  God has just moved the track to a different place....

You give it your all, as you have in the past, Go ahead "Intimidator", show them some class, and put on a good show,
For we'll all be cheering for you , for we know you're where all good Nascar guys go....

As a race car fan, this one caught my eye. Though I'm not a Nascar watcher, it was tragic to lose such a great driver. We lost one of our Canadian drivers in CART, Greg Moore a couple of years ago. It's terrible to see one so young and full of promise be taken in such a tragic way. But, they went doing the one thing in life that they loved and had a passion for. I sure hope there are race tracks in heaven for our boys.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Yes , me too. I'm a die-hard nascar fan, and although I wasn't a true-blue Dale Earnhardt fan it still hit home with me, I guess anytime such a tragedy occurs it touches peoples hearts. He was a great driver and I was deeply saddened by his death, Nascar, just doesn't seem the same without him at the front of the pack...So if I feel that way, I can just imagine how his true die-hard fans feel.

It was a great shock to many Nascar fans and others who knew him through greater works when Dale didn't climb out of #3 that day. Over 20 years ago I was introduced to Nascar, and is was great, cheering for Elliott while my husband rooted for Dale. You never want to see a good man leave, no matter which side of the bet you're on.

Thank you for this.

This is very true! I guess you were in your glory last week when Elliot crossed that line then huh? I was really happy to see him win......It has been a while and he surely deserves it....   ~lewisone~
