A thousand beats of my heart becomes an eternity on a faceless clock.
Without you present, I am lost, struggling so.
Kindly do me a gracious gift.
Stop my heart now, that the pain might ebb and cease.

Each breath in agony of anticipation.
Each movement of the sun’s shadow lingering
longing for a simple acknowledgment of concern.
My eyes weep, my soul screams, my lips quiver
I await your presence.

The shadows long are short compared to my feelings
for I can only express this wait.
Lingering loneliness ever deep inside me.
I wish to turn back time
for time tortures me now.

The trees join me, their branches bowing under weight
Tons of sadness straining their energies
as mine own fill me and overflow

Return my love,   I long to hold you.
Will you again come to me?

What a lovely piece about missing someone and awaiting their return.

Return my love,   I long to hold you.
Will you again come to me?

I just love those last two lines.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Bravo! I always love to read uninhibited verse of longing and desire from the male poet's point of view. It's in you all but You do it so well. Beautiful!

Sincerely,
Regina
