Listening to every heart

Nationalities

It matters yes, your nations story
Hold it well close by your side
It matters yes, my nations story
In alliance we would stride

You’ve come from lands far away
As fears bias cast you aside
To start afresh in lands not gray
While bloody wounds you hide

You hunger only simple things
Peace, food, warmth and abode
Somewhere that joy may sing
And cannons do not explode

~*~

But nations meet does not mean
That man and man met well
Oil and water does not seem
To mix, as time would tell

Now I am blood of immigrant
Though life led mine to bond
To this nation’s blood and sent
Mixed understandings on

Its as if I sat on yon fence
For life’s blood fought both sides
Thus I pain when things are tense
Clearly, there’s nowhere to hide

~*~

So all I have is this, my hand
To stretch out to touch your own
And side-by-side we take command
Before our time has flown

To see that we right the wrongs
For our children’s children’s peace
Come as one in united song
And the flow of hearts’ release

Forgiveness is the healing start
Forgetting? No, we need recall
If we forget that pain of heart
Then we won’t have grown at all

I love this ones message of wisdom, truth and spirit K ...
in this crayola  box that is our world ...
we must learn to blend...
hands can reach out across oceans and equators..
let the touch be one of unity and kind.
such are the lessons of these troubled times
you make us reflect with your gifted rhymes dear poetess

"If I could fly ... I'd pick you up ... I'd take you into the night ...
and show you a love like you've never seen ... ever seen" ... ohoh ...

Nationalities

The message is so true and well put.

You hunger only simple things
Peace, food, warmth and abode
Somewhere that joy may sing
And cannons do not explode

unfortunately true since time immemorial
but:

Forgiveness is the healing start
Forgetting? No, we need recall
If we forget that pain of heart
Then we won’t have grown at all

Thank You

Exactly. IWIHWT. You have expressed this so well. Too many generations have shed their blood on the trail, and though we should not ever forget, it truly is time to join hands and walk the healing peace path.
Mysteria's photo goes hand-in-hand well with this poem. Thank you for your gift of love and sunshine.

A rainbow of truth. A great stand and hand to take. Excellent verse and wisdom.
