I sing in sighs of sailors cries
Within the deepest part of the abyss
What I would do for just a kiss
of life in your hapless knee buckle

There among the shores you think
Things are many a sound of sea
Yet, you are enchanted, as I round
the bend of your arm, charming you

Though you swim, you are man
treating you to breath, I kiss
You don’t remember, If I forget
to swell your lungs, your heart

You sink into the watery dream
which you may never wake, even
when your chest burns, you lead weight
fins churn you deeper into cloudless heaven

Many a soul lost...and yet, found perhaps
beneath the rolling weave of waves
searching for seduction, to be abandoned
within the mystical breach of castaway

How tempting I find you, starving for love
as I starve for legs, spent, relentless
though I shy from sundried sandy beaches
I will seek you and make you weak

What a coincidence:
I just joined PIP and yours is among the first poems I've read and it happens that I just did a wood carving of a mermaid.  I love the mood and alure you have captured, a siren's song. Thank you for the wonderful pic and poem.

Dear Regina, what a wonderful work you have given here, you are certainly preoccupied with water at the moment I see, how wonderful to have you back. Your words here will surely seduce many, you occupy the shores and waters which surround, filling hearts of the needing, though only for a while. You are back with love and romance in your heart. I have been found and now stand weak.
Great work Regina.
Sincerely
Rick

I can see you've studied the siren well.  I always thought of them as all having long red hair. At least, that is my hope.   LOL! Excellent, my friend!   *hugs*

In the phantom dreams of an echoes kiss.

Lovely words. *L*
