My Birthday Gift to You

A Birthday gift to give you, I haven’t got.
But a feeling stirring inside, this thought.
A strong desire to make every wish come true.
I’ve started this by giving my love to you.
A piece of my heart and my soul unfurled,
If only I could, I would give you the world.
My world is the only offer I have to give.
But you’re welcome to come inside and live.
I have opened myself up and let my guard down,
But in this world, it is you with the crown.
You are the king with your kind hearted ways,
And this title you’ll wear throughout your days.
For on this day that comes every year,
It is you that friends hold, in their hearts, so dear.
So, as you open your gift, wrapped neat with a bow,
Remember, it’s fragile, take it nice and slow.
This gift, I know, you’ve received in the past.
But the gift of my love is meant to last.
I’ve presented this gift for years upon end,
Yet along with my love, I promise you Friend,
As my heart travels with you wherever you go,
I pray that my love you will forever know!
