PICTURE PERFECT

The vision takes form deep within
feeding a need we can't resist
To starve it we will never win
as it struggles to be set free

We take the painting from our soul
putting it on a white canvas
To fill with beauty, rare, our goal
while sharing with those around us

Like a painter we dip our brush
as we bring forth a masterpiece
Strain shows on our face in a blush
laboring over each message

With words at hand we paint the scene
using colors of our talent
Giving life to what we have seen,
creators with pen and paper

With strong emotions our hearts flow
as we open ourselves to view
Words sometimes restrict what we know
that would be shown to all of you

We suffer over what we write
hoping that others can see it
Bringing the vision into light
making it a Picture Perfect

Wonderfully said Karen!
How we do ponder over each words trying to make what we write picture perfect.
Well done!  hugs, Nancy.

Thanks, Karen, for painting such a perfectly beautiful picture of the poetic spirit, as it strives to free itself of the bonds of ego.

it's a perfection we never fully reach but, in the effort, we succeed.

Very nicely done, Karen

Beautifully written. And so true. We strive to make words picture perfect to show what we can only feel.
Wonderful write.

A labor of Love, an obsessive urge and with any luck articulated for others enjoyment. If not then at least a purging.

I never seem to be satisfied with what I paint ... my sense of picture perfect gets in my way
You've done well though

"We suffer over what we write
hoping that others can see it
Bringing the vision into light
making it a Picture Perfect" - So true! It feels so much better when other's relate to what you were describing in your poem!

Another one of my fav lines of your poem was
"Like a painter we dip our brush
as we bring forth a masterpiece"

This is an incredible poem Karen, you've done good! (hugs)

Karen,

I cant believe I missed this first time 'round....and as an "artist" I found this....

"Like a painter we dip our brush
as we bring forth a masterpiece
Strain shows on our face in a blush
laboring over each message"

so well expressed.....I enjoyed this....
