Paradise Lost

As my eyes should see the break of morning light
the sign of warmth and a new start,
when your smile would shine
through the darkened night,
these things put a skip in my heart.

The thought of never seeing another dawn
no more life, no you to breath,
this makes my eyes mist with tears
that will soon be gone
by morning, no pleasure to grieve.

If I was to survive such a holocaust
no more warmth, nothing else to start,
your smile to me
would be paradise lost ...
the final beating of my heart.

Simply beautiful, ctowen...
My heart swells with pleasure, and then skips a beat, as I read this. Thank you for sharing it

It is this loss that we sometimes must face, and we do go on...

life is never the same, but then, change cannot occur and have life remain the same, regardless...

a good write, Sir...

Thank you one and all.
Your comments help me both see and feel
