White Sails

A hundred white sails near the mouth of the bay
Turning toward home at the end of the day
Translucent wings gliding slowly and free
Like tall pointed fins roaming over the sea

Beacons of sun slice through purplish haze
Dancing on wings that are dancing on waves
Sunbeams on silver silk filtering through
Illuminate white in the soft misty blue

A sail is a dream and a dream is a sail
That floats on the ocean without any trail
Gracefully billowing full to the brim
Bowing to power of water and wind

Upon gleaming ripples that mirror the sun
Life’s sorrows, it seems, come completely undone
Pure white on gray waters, white sails in blue mist
My dreams are the wings that the sunlight has kissed

As we’re nearing the end, the sea breezes are calm
We rock on soft currents in warm evening balm
The sun is descending, white silhouettes creep
To the end of the journey where dreams go to sleep

White sails softly cradled in mystic blue haze
To be launched by the dreamers the rest of their days

Elizabeth,

Beacons of sun slice through purplish haze
Dancing on "wings" that are dancing on waves
Sunbeams on silver silk filtering through
Illuminate white in the soft misty blue
Wings is nice but I read Winds.
Don't get any better than this. Love Sy
