Please Believe Me

by Michael

I wish I could make you believe
that what you think of me is wrong.
You’ve always been my dearest friend
and make my heart break out in song.

I’m honest and I do not lie.
Coincidence got in the way.
You know I think the world of you.
I know no more that I can say.

I worry of our friendship lost.
I’ll do whatever that I can.
I never meant to hurt you, dear.
You know that I’m an honest man.

Today I cannot find a smile.
I’m hurt, like you, and needlessly.
The truth should never cause one pain,
but now that’s what it’s done to me.

Please know I love you and I wait.
Today my heart can find no rest.
Of all the friends that share my life,
you've always been my very best.

This is so deep and moving Michael.  Beautiful words from your heart.

Michael,
this is heartfelt and very honest, just as you always are.  I think if your friend reads this and is a true friend, they will understand what is in your heart.  In the meantime, as you can see, your house is full of friends that love you......

...you are me, I am you, we are one...

Perhaps in time she will see what she has.  This one emits loneliness and sorrow throughout each line with an honesty of heart that makes me hope she sees soon.  Very good write, Michael.

Very nicely written Michael. I hope the friend hears it and understands.
