A Day to Pause A day to pause, a day to praise In honor of our blessed days To gather family and thought In all the good our life has wrought We sit around a table full Of all that’s truly wonderful Our bounty on the table lies Our treasure in the golden eyes Too great the feast to all consume So vast the love in glorious bloom So bountiful the gifts we bear Of all the love that’s gathered there Our hands encircled round a feast Brings to the heart an inner peace A simple moment that we share Our thanks to God in humble prayer Reflects a lifetime worth of toil The cultivation of the soil That bore this bounty witnessed here Of generations gathered near My wish is that this love unfurled Were spread to all around the world That this Thanksgiving Day behold A peace within each heart and soul May your home be safe and warm May your heart be well adorned May your table always be A place to gather family May this day be one of worth To contemplate your deeds on earth And all bestowed you from above A family nourished in your love Elizabeth Santos |
