I remember the days of my grandfather and I.
Of the times he held me, when I cried.
The things he showed fascinated me.
He aspired me to be whatever I wanted to be.
The weekends at his house I would stay.
I remember the countless times we played.
He read me stories every night.
And he loved me, with all of his might.
He showed me his ways of the world.
Making me feel special as his favorite girl.
Apple crisp he made with love.
And movie stars that we would dream of.
I would sleep in his tshirts when ready for bed.
On his shoulder I would rest my head.
I watched him wither over the years.
And watched him die with all of my fears.
So now I remember him in our special way.
The love he gave me has forever stayed.
My grandfather still means the world to me.
For without him who knows, what kind of woman I would be.
For this is my grandfather.
