It fell
slow drifting flakes at first
following the slap of ice
against panes and roof

Dancing on winds wire
they teetered in rise and fall
walking the tight narrow north

Beauty in their mass
reminded me of a woman I knew
too warm to be ice
too cold to be fluid
but beautiful

She balanced
on thoughts and fears
that drove her to sting
when driven with force

She covered me once
I her

but a thaw never came
and I
hate the cold

And we can see why!  Once again you've whipped in with your words, and left the chill of them behind...

where IS the warmth...

ah...here in my smile...welcome home!

Another one for my Favorites. Icy yet warm, imagery to stir the imagination and the  mind. Thank you again, Ron.

Wow, Cpat.  Nice write.  Left me feeling cold though!

I like this one very much. I too hate the cold, both in the weather and in people.

I love this. You painted a painfully beautiful picture of one that lays waste in  warmth that never comes. Brilliant piece. So cold the hidden heart.

Sincerely,
Regina
