--- Guilty ? --- Last night while I was sleeping I stepped into a dream. I walked into a courtroom, Standing trial it would seem. The audience was buzzing As the judge came walking in. The bailiff said "All Rise..." With that it did begin. The charges lodged against me Were read for all aloud. Accused of being Christian, I felt so very proud. The prosecutor entered And stood before the court. He stood before the jury For his opening report. "Although he has confessed To the charge before the court. We do not have a single piece Of evidence to report." I stood before the court in shock, Could scarce believe my ears. Had they checked my record? I'd been Christian many years. "I object." The words escaped my lips. I stood and shouted "No !". "Case dismissed!" The judge declared, You are free to go. As his gavel pounded, I sprang up and awoke. No witnesses against me. Not a single person spoke. If I come before this Court on another day. I pray that there are witnesses Who have a lot to say. But I guess it's up to me To leave a trail of clues. If they brought you to that court Could they convict you? No one ever listened themselves into trouble. [This message has been edited by The Lonely Stranger (edited 11-20-2001).] |

I always wondered something..If you are innocent until proven guilty then why do they lock you up until your innocense is proven? Good Write, I enjoyed! |
