Tonight
finding myself outside
searching a starless sky

for just one
to make a wish upon
in desire of you

tonight, thinking
this love is a childish dream
this innocence belongs to one less broken
this renewal of emotion unwise

wondered at my sanity

tonight, not rational
wished upon a starless sky
trusted fate
and all such foolishness

wondered at my prior hesitation

tonight
you are the first
the last
the always

dream of you

I never want to wake up
from tonight

What a beautiful way to start the day…morning coffee with your words, your dreams…need I say I love this piece? Though I fear it kept you up much too late…so now, as you sleep…dream..wish..believe in fate.
A wish upon a starless sky
Just trust in fate, don’t ask it why
Dreams like this they can come true
The stars shine bright for me and you
We can forever live this dream
That once we thought just make-believe
Just close your eyes and make a wish
Of dreams so sweet of love like this
Yes, wishes really can come true
Put faith in dreams, I’ll dream with you

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Duncan,

What a sweet piece   I can relate to this as well.  I can't tell you how many times I've wished on a star for the one I love.  Sometimes they come true  I've found mine.

Hugs,
Tara

Oh that you would
Have searched the sky
this Saturday last.

My sky was ablaze
With stars to wish upon
As they went flying past.

I wished for love for
Lonely hearts as I watched
The last one fall.

Take heart my friend
For if you pine, my
Wish was for us all.

No one ever listened themselves into trouble.

This is a dream that is never foolish. It's heartfelt...very real words.

*sigh* I hope your wish comes true just because the desire in your heart is so wonderful. I lost myself in the feel of this poem, Duncan. Absolutely wonderful. I think this one needs to go in my library so that I can read it again before I go to bed. It makes wishing in dreams all the more pleasing.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

"Star Light, Star Bright"

This was always one of my favorites from when I was four years old.  Thank you for sharing your wish, it brought memories of yesterday and more wishes for tomarrow. I hope yours comes true.

Go ahead, push your luck; find out how much love the world can hold

This is so beautiful and so moving. I love it. *SMILE* The one you wish for will someday feel you love, and you will feel it, too. I truly belive that real love has a way of making its way into everyone's lives.

Thank you for your kind reply to my poem about my Aunt,
your poetry is very comforting to me for some reason. I hope you continue writing more.
It touches a place, can't explain it. Poetry is like that sometimes isn't it?

Sometimes we have to seize the moment, and not question love. Great poem.
