Fadeing is the light
Pushing back the pain
I slip into peace

I join the battle
For which i was bred to fight
Withing the darkness

I am not alone
Lost within the past
Waiting for the night

We gather among the shadows
Armed with what we have
That which we own

Faith is our sheild
Justice is our blade
Compassion is our cause

Acceptance empowers us
We fight for the future
We make it our own

Without the impulse of hatred
And the pledge of free will
We will win back our legasy

The paths of our choosing
Will be ours once more
From the sacrafice of many

enjoyed this greatly. makes me think of a vision that was had by george washington, before america won its independence. oddly enough, two of the events from the vision have come to pass... we await the third... your poem makes me think of the aftermath, rebuilding and relearning after the third event from his vision comes to pass. i like the wee three line stanza's that each comnplete a terse, well expressed thought.
