He Chose the Nails
By Larry Chadwick

He didn’t come to be served,
He came to serve and to die.
So it comes as no surprise,
It was done for you and I.

His was a perfect life lived,
To show it could be done.
And isn’t it totally amazing,
He was God’s one and only Son.

Patiently, He showed us the way,
It led us all to the hill of Calvary.
And that is where He chose to die,
As they nailed Him to that tree.

He had the power to save Himself,
But that isn’t what He chose to do.
No, He chose to endure the nails,
And He did it for me and for you.

Sin isn't fair, but God got even, grace isn't fair either.  larry c

Okay this brought the tears. This poem touches me deeply. He did so very much for our sake and He chose to because He loves us so much. *sigh* His is the perfect love. Thank you, Larry, this poem is timed perfectly. **hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

He certainly did do just that, Larry. I dont think I'd like him any less if he didn't though

He did it all for us, asking nothing in return.  Now that is the ultimate sacrifice.  This was wonderful, Larry.
