This is an "oldie but goodie" that I found collecting dustballs in my poetry notebook.   As I continue to "clean house" and start anew with my writing, I thought I would post this last glimpse of a romance from the past. Weird...why do I feel like I have come full circle by posting this? lol

Missing you...

(v1) Memories of your eyes
caught in the candlelit glow
of dancing sparks within them
My heart is trip hammering
dancing to Van Morrison's "brown eyed girl"
in double time

(Chorus) I'm missing you again
like the hundreds of times before
I'm scared to fall in love with you
but my heart and soul want so much more
I've had so many dreams of you
but I never dreamed that they would come true
and I'm happily unsure of what to do
because I'm missing you again

(v2) Memories of your smile
radiating from your face
and I feel the blush across my cheeks
as I listen to your beautiful laugh
saying the things to me
that your words shyly hint at

(Chorus)

(v3) Memories of your touch
nerves tingling as my skin ripples from the
goosebump chills of your soft fingertips
skin to skin but the warmth we're feeling
radiating from within as
our passions combine into one

(Bridge) We've opened one door
but there are so many more
and I hear the one behind me
closing the way from before
I'm scared to move forward
but the way to you is beckoning ahead
and I know that if I don't take one step forward
I'll be missing you instead

(Chorus - fade out)

"People say I should learn some self control; but I just want to exorcise my soul"

"I'm still waiting on a revelation here in Never-Never land..."

Very very touching write Jeff!  Seems most of us are in a reflective mood tonight.

Carol,
Thank you for your kind words. When I write a song, it's sorta funny because I start off just putting words together but somewhere in the middle of the poem, I begin to hear the music.

Nancy,
Yes, I am feeling a bit reflective tonight. Cool autumn nights tend to do that to me.
So, did you bring enough fairy dust for two?   Hey, let's sprinkle a little on everyone here! We could all use a flight to Never-Never land every now and then.

                    - Jeff

PS> oops, I just realized that I accidentally used my "new" ID to respond to my "old" ID's last poem. lol Sorry for bumping myself y'all.

You make music very well with your words, Jeff. This is beautifully romantic.

And, Nancy, I would love some of that fairy dust you have to give out.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Jeff,

Beatiful I could hear the music in my mind as I read this.  I'm glad you found it and shared it with us.

Hugs,
Tara

because sometimes, you have to go back to the beginning to get to the end. . .

and then, you start all over again, in a different direction. . . great job Jeff. . .
