It all fell away on a Carolina day
off the coast where I sat and I cried
held my heart in my hand, left my tears on the sand
for there was nothing I hadn't tried.

I had held on too long, but that day heard a song
it spoke to me clear as the sea.
Carolina, my girl, leave your place in this world
dry your tears, take a breath, count to three.

So I stood gazing far, saw a wild flashing star
it seemed to be following close.
I just walked from the bay, no more words left to say
hush, be still, and you'll find your repose.

From my own past emotion, I turned from the ocean
I ran till I felt I was free.
There's a love coming soon, in the path of the moon
I shall find him or will he find me?

Carolina

Great words. You will leave your mark on this world. Also, love will find you or vice versa.Sometimes looking too hard can be a hinderance.

Carolina this is absolutely fabulous poetry!!
Your clever rhyme scheme leaves my craving for rhyme and cadence giddy and sated
Your imagery and express of emotions are equally impressive.
This is a wonderful entrance to poetry land..
(one I wish I had wrote..one for my library)
WELCOME, I look forward to more of your work

I would wait till the end of time for you,
Then do it all again ... it's true.
I can't measure my love for you,
There's nothing to compare it to.

Carol Lina,
At least some of us can get the name right! Wow, welcome to Passions. I'd do what Nancy Lee did for a welcome, but she won't teach me!   I'll let Midnitesun know how to spell your name. Great poem. Glad you're here and look forward to more.

I apprecite all of you reading my poetry.. Olias, it's not always easy   sometimes I toil for days over something, wondering, hesitating, then I just well, finish it. Titia, you know I was supposed to be Carol Luna (for the moon) but sometimes I can't spell!

Thank you all for reading my words.

Carolina
