~*~ A Gramma's Love ~*~
~* by Mysteria *~

Is there any love, like a Gramma’s love?
Is there a stronger bond on this earth?
This overwhelming bond is given by God,
and more intense than when she gave birth.

She loved her children as they grew
until they had children of their own,
now they’ll draw from her experience
until their own children are grown.

A Gramma's love is forever strong,
never changing for all time,
and when her grandchildren need her most,
a gramma’s love will shine.

There’s something about a Gramma,
Their bearhugs feel so safe and warm,
then suddenly you feel so unafraid,
and know you’re safe from harm.

Ever notice how they smell so sweet?
Is that lavender they wear?
And don’t you just love the way,
they gently stroke your hair?

God bless these special grammas',
God bless them every one
for all the tears and heartache,
and for all the work they’ve done.

For when her day on earth is over,
a gramma's love is never done,
it's passed down through generations,
so she lives on in every one.

I can't show one granddaughter without the latest!

This is Natasha (Tasha) Marie ... Born Nov. 7,2001

Just in the last two days I've built yet another fort in my living room, played Super Nintendo, and got lots of sniggly kisses and hugs that I wouldn't trade for anything... I know of what you speak... Aren't they just GRAND??... Nice work, m'lady..

Congrats on the 4

This was so adorable, and just brought back so many incredible memories from my 2 wonderful grandmothers ... sigh ... thank you Sharon, for the feelings this brought back to me. Big, big hugs, and congratulations on 4,000!!!!

Thank you all for taking me into Passions with such warm and loving arms first of all, and extending your hand in friendship as well.  Thanks to Ron for the place for us to gather in this poetry community, and the moderators who maintain it all and keep it the "cleanest poetry forums" on the internet.

I did this poem for "every Grandmother" because, as I even make an apple pie I think of one Gramma, and when I make a concoction of cleaning goop I think of the other.  With each motion I remember them and the love is always with me.  I watch Tori watching me do things and know one day she will be thinking of me too, just as I do my Grandmothers and the ones before that, as their remedies, and recipes go on and one.

There is NOTHING like this love, nothing!  I have had every kind of love, and this is just the BEST!  And the best part...you can now do all the things with grandchildren that you didn't ever want your children to do, so play, laugh and enjoy it, you are allowed as a grandparent!  ((hugs)) to you all.

Larry C ~ You bet!  It goes for Grampas too!  Isn't it fun to getting to play all over again?  As for the 4,000 posts - YIKES, only 200+ are poems, so I think I have too much to say - but love reading all the poetry, and hence the 4,000 comments I guess.  I realize after seeing that I better limit my time in here

Indeed, there IS no love like that of a grandmother's love...but when you combine that with the love that flows so freely from YOUR heart in particular...well, that is the icing on the perfect "grandma cake"...~*~winks~*~
And, congratulations on your 4,000'th post.
Geeesssshhhhhh....just imagine as long as all of mine are if I had posted that many...they'd have to put me on a separate web page ~*~grins~*~
This was so very beautiful, Sharon...and you have two very beautiful granddaughters who are so blessed to have a grandmother who just happens to be an angel on earth...
Hugs and much love to you and yours, always,

It was beautifully expressed and I just loved the sentiments you conveyed.
I hope my grandkids see me the way you described the grandma in your poem.

Congratulations on your 4000 post and also on your new grandaughter.
