Will one of us look away first
before the other catches gaze
will it all come back to us
like the rush of a needle
bearing opiate
will we smile
exchanging polite greetings
will my heart soar and break
all in the same moment

will I ever see you, again?

*sigh* I can only say that I hope the glances you exchange are long lasting and that your heart receives the love you desire. Your words always touch the heart. A tender and gentle read for a late evening. Thank you for sharing this poem and these thoughts with me.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Oh... It sure does hurt so much when you can only secretly look at the person you love from afar, and exchange common courtesies when you meet. It sure hurts. I've been through that before, and I hope you'll never have to hurt so much again.

Hard to say the reaction one can have when confronted with a past love or potential love. But there is something that makes this poem so sexy, perhaps the unspoken words, the look, I don't know but I'm a fan of that situation of can't touch, can't look deal. So you know I love this one.

very deep question here, senor Duncan. I think we all wonder at some time.."How would I feel if I saw what's her name on the street again?" Would I still feel love for her? Regret that it ended? Relief that it ended? Euphoria that it ended?

Who can say?

Duncan, you see I look at this and wonder what happened, and, why either one of you would want to look away quickly before the other sees.
I am still laughing at Balladeer's response.  Euphoria that it ended! LOL.  Great write here Duncan leaving me with lots to ponder tonight.

Duncan,

your emotions are so strong here...
I FELT this one...perhaps because I
could relate to it in so many ways,
this is a fine fine write, and brought
a smile to my face, and a few tears to
my eyes. Thank you sweet friend.I pray
that you do see each other again, and that
when you do...it's a moment of happiness.

Take care.

An awkward moment at the very least. Will the corner glance re-kindle old romance?
Or make you wonder why it ended?
