The Sound Of Letting Go I will take from me this moon that I've been fortunate to hold And, hand it to the man who's heart stands as brightly as it's light does I know he's probably held almost everything in his loving arms But, hopefully this gift will be something he's never touched... I think when one receives the all mighty beams of gold that hangs in the sky And, when we become one with what's bigger and always has been Then, we can respect a little more of what the world really has For, this gift is eternal and it has no end... With taking my treasure and placing it into another's hand Shows there's this part of me so grateful for his genuine ways Oh, the sound of letting go can be music to the ears and the soul So, listen closely and you'll hear my thankfulness today... He deserves that moon because his heart's much the same They both shine endlessly all over this world He glows like the moon only he glows lower than the sky But, he has just the same effect on this lonely girl... He's taken the side of me that has only known fear all my life And, is gently lying me down to a whole new kind of peace I cannot always find the words that dance here inside of me But, I found the strength to thank God that he was within my reach... So, now my days find me fighting what replays over and over in my mind But, my lifetime friend is there as close as he can be He's taking the heartbreak and sadness I've carried for many years And, teaching me kindness is surely the most precious release... I can in some ways see a little brighter now He's given me a brand new method to hope So, little by little, I'll become what God intended me to be Blessed is this man that's allowing me the sound of letting go... Someday I'm gonna dance along the waters that run out there And, I'm gonna sing the melody of life without all the tears Not even the winds will be able to cause this candle of life to go out Cause this man's showing me quickly what trust is all about... Yes, I hold a past no girl or boy should ever know But, this man's helping me now hear the sound of letting go To you, My Friend, I'm living just to hear that tune So, My Friend, just promise me you'll never forget the moon... *Sauni* Sauni @~~~>~~ |
