Through The Eyes Of An Angel God took you by the hand and held you like you've never known He's made way for the goldest wings one's ever seen upon your back Oh, I can still see myself looking back at you as you waved your final good-bye It took all I had to keep from running to you, Dad... I stood there and watched as all the angels greeted you here on earth But, why wasn't the look on your face as sad as my heart? You were going to mansions in the sky made for the lucky ones But, I was on my knees within time knowing we'd soon be apart... In my mind I was able to picture you walking on the softest road I held onto you taking your wonderful heart all through that lane It's not that I didn't want you to be magnificently happy on your journey there Just I wanted to go with you, too, just to ease this pain... Before I knew it I saw them place your own set of wings against you Your face was as bright as the shine in your eyes when you were here Let me say seven years ago I lost what I thought no one could take And, there was nothing I could do looking through all these tears... Through the eyes of an angel now do you see how I've fallen fast? I wish I could be everything you so hoped to leave behind But, I'm not...I'm as low as the ground your body lies under And, rarely does a smile ever become real of mine... You live the life of an angel one that you so deserve But, how do I convince myself life works out for the best? Through the years I've put aside the pain so I could think of your face And, barely do I ever get a good nights rest... Tell me, through an angels eyes have you seen what the world has done to me? Cause, I know if you were here you'd cling to your family and friends Through your beautiful eyes, Dad, do you see agony has changed my life? But, a part of you and all you taught me is here til' the end... You're an angel now so will you guide me through the darkness from now on? And, if I lose my balance be the one to keep me up? For, I watched you this evening on my t.v. of a memory I've kept So, would you tell, Dear God, that I have had enough?... You now have a vision only angels are able to see Please help me to smile at the moments of you and me I don't know how to go on just being daddy's little girl all alone So, would you please ask God if it's OK that you now come home?... I'm sorry I can't be more so that through your eyes you can see a better me But, how does an angels daughter become all you've ever dreamed? Through an angels eyes find the way to take me back to us Even if that means God must give me wing also to take me up... Sauni @~~~>~~ |

*sigh* such love poured out of your pen in this poem. Do you not realise that because he sees through the eyes of an angel he sees the heart and soul within you not what you see in your view of yourself. Do not be too hard on yourself....his love for you will never change and he will always see you through the eyes of an angel for that is the true you. **hugs** Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |
