An Allegory for Kevin
By Larry Chadwick

It was the tortoise and the hare,
A race which both did pursue.
Each one began it at the start,
To prove what they could do.

It really wasn’t an even match,
But the Rabbit didn’t really care.
He just knew that he was fast,
And wasn't worried about being fair.

About the rules he didn’t ask,
Before this event had begun.
He assumed he was the best,
And giggled while he did run.

To the hare it was all a blur,
While the tortoise took it in.
The turtle memorized it all,
For the test given in the end.

When he crossed the finish line,
The hare was tired and worn out.
He couldn’t recall a single thing,
The turtle didn’t even try to pout.

‘Twas now the testing all began,
To repeat what they had seen.
The hare couldn’t recall a thing,
But tortoise knew what he had been.

So they tallied up the test results,
Told each one of them his score.
The rabbit had flunked the test,
While turtle had passed and more.

So the moral of the story is (Kevin),
Things aren’t always as they seem.
For as fast as your youth may be,
Balladeer will always have esteem.

Grandpa is just rollin in wisdom these days.
LOL, poor Kevin. But I've been rootin for him ya know...my devils advocate syndrome, or is that masochist's syndrome? I always get them mixed up.  NOT.

Midnitesun,
Our attitude is all in the spirit of foul play. Afterall, we want to give Kevin a chance! ....I mean fair play.
