And when Kevin's life was over,
He met St. Peter at the gate.
And Peter asked, "Why did you let
Your life go to such waste.

And Kevin said in response,
"I thought my goal was clear.
I dedicated my whole life to be
Just like Balladeer's."

St.  Peter said, "Your life is gone,
You may enter at your request.
But, why didn't you strive to be Long John,
Instead of second best?"

Poor Kevin - always setting his sights too low - heh

Listen to the waves lapping
Against the bulkhead call
Hear all the rigging tapping
Against the mast so tall.

Not everyone’s made for sailing,
There are those that want something more
Than to watch the wake’s V trailing
Some just want to sit on shore.

There are those who can’t sail,
And get sick upon the sea,
Try convincing to no avail,
For they can’t view it’s beauty

There is no second best to be,
For sailing in another way of living,
There are those of land and of sea,
Only sailors know the sea’s giving.

Do I sense Long John a little bit of jealousy here
Should he have thrown the glove at you instead to Balladeer
You know the reason he did not or are you wondering why
Well secret is my dearest man you look like old Popey
And Popey always won you see our Kev he knew that too
But when he had slain Balladeer he would've come on to you

LngJhnAg,
Never a dull moment here. Seems Balladeer has no courage for taking on you! Kevin on the other hand...

Ah, Larry C, my poor misguided newcomer. I polished off LongJohn a long time ago, exposed him for the kitty-kicker he is and caused him to take a job as a moderator on the "Poetics for Dummies" website for over a year! I shall post a poem of that episode to prove my point...

Tracey..I am SO glad you returned so you could see how badly I've been pick on in your absence! Oh, the abuse!!!
