Here I sat with my raven friend,
Morose poet with time to spend,
Before a glowing light my beacon in the night,
That draws me down and draws me in,
Sadness consuming not to end,
Never to knowing bright my darkness is my sight.
Feathers not fluttered staying still,
Taxidermist left you your chill,
But you give Poe’s sight and allow poetry’s flight,
Sit there my cold stiff raven friend,
Inspire my dismal poem’s bend

Gloom

Your poetry may be usually sad, but it has a beautiful feel to it that I cannot explain. This just touches a sadness buried somewhere within me, my friend.   I love your work.

Thank you, Thank you, Temptress,
I am pleased you like my writing
And tolerate their sad nature enough to read.

Thank you, Suetang,
Glad you enjoyed.

Undoubted reason the raven sits
to gift your pen awesome wit
to room with gloom that which be read
thank goodness for day and not night's bed...

Raven muse so stiff and cold
helps you write with pen so bold.
From the darkness outside
you shall not hide, for it
flows from this quill
for eager souls who
await on windowsill.

This is darkly...comical...It reminds me of the Lady in Chevy Chase's movie that wrote with the stuffed squirrel. She did well. You do well. I'm thinking what I can stuff. LOL! Your friend is very interesting!

Sincerely,

Someone once said, "The only good bird is a dead bird". I'm hoping it's not true, for virtual personal reasons.

All kidding aside, friends of the avian persuasion have provided many an inspiration for poetry.

I'm enjoying your insight, Prof.
