Wings Of The Dove
By: Noah Eaton
11/15/01

Meringue feathers flutter onto a woman's lap
Reflecting rainbows from the heavens blue satin window
Trinkets of eternity whispering to her ears
It was the day she would be queened in loves windrow

Being a fugitive of her own fate she screams in rapture
Dancing beneath the ala mode moon, her heart tomorrow will leap
Her shoulder is caressed by a welcoming wing of midas
She looks up to see her dove warbling to her heart, with a parchment in its beak

She reads it to herself, holding the cinnamon print in hand
Smelling the spices in seasonal blend, she sighs in relief
Her dove perched on her shoulder proud, answering in merry trill
She scans the calligraphy, and she slowly reads

"Fear not, lovely lady, for I belong to your heart
For I am merry to sleep in the wings of a dove
That you weave for me, with all your heart's content
I will bring you the stars and the moon, my lady love"

She folds the paper back up, tucking it to her beating heart
Smiling in deep sigh, kissing the blueberry pie skies
Spinning in her winter white dress, reflecting the mother moon
As violet lashes of an angel light the pale heavens with light

And the dove soars with the cinnamon moon
Brushing whispers of light in her gentle flight
For now this woman knows his love for her is real
For her heart rests in the wings of a dove…where his love resides

*GASP* this is breath-takingly beautiful dear Noah! If I had to pick one of your poems to call my favorite, I honestly don't think I could choose just one because all of them are incredible! Ok, Ok, so maybe I favor your poem "JOANNA" , can you blame me? lol. ((warm hugs))

Another beauty, Noah. The imagery is great, with cinnamon and blueberies...a tasty love song.
